Pointing to BNP, Food Minister Qamrul Islam on Monday said those who placed the 'Vision 2030' afresh are living in a fool's paradise.
"We've already become a lower middle-income country. We'll be graduated to a middle-income country by 2021 and Bangladesh will be a developed country by 2041 under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina," he said.
The minister was speaking at a community policing rally at Nekrosebagh ground of Keraniganj on the outskirts of the capital in the evening.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Wednesday unveiled BNP's 256-point 'Vision 2030', saying her party wants to turn Bangladesh into a modern and democratic upper middle-income country by 2030 with per capita income of US $5000.
She had said BNP will implement the Vision 2030 if it returns to power.
Qamrul also underscored the need for standing by police to curb social crimes.
