BNP on Saturday paid last respect to ex-President Abdur Rahman Biswas, who passed away at a city hospital on Friday night, by placing wreaths at his coffin.
His coffin was taken to BNP's Nayapaltan central office around 2:20pm and kept on a stage in front of it, enabling party leaders and activists to have a last glimpse of their late leader.
Later, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir along with party senior leaders, on behalf of the party, placed wreaths at his coffin draped with a party flag as a mark of respect to the late leader.
Rahman Biswas, who had long been suffering from old-age complications, breathed his last at United Hospital around 8:27pm on Friday at the age of 91.
His second namaz-e-janaza was in front of the BNP central office participated by several hundred party leaders and activists.
