Many a times Bollywood celebrities open up on the dark side of showbiz. The celebrities who manage to make it to the top, sometimes open up on certain situations they faced as newcomers in the industry. In recent state of affairs, quintessential actress Swara Bhaskar opened up on being stalked and harassed by a director while shooting for a film in her budding days.
According to reports doing the rounds, the 'Veere Di Wedding' actress brought to light the horrors she faced on the sets with directors and "men who were in a position to cast me." In an interview to a leading tabloid, the actress even admitted to losing out on roles because she would not "give in" and "would not take things lying down."
In a series of shocking revelations, Swara even said that she had been subjected to "catcalls during shoots and eve-teasing" while on the sets. Calling to mind an incident from her early days in the industry, she said that she had been "groped by a mob during promotions and during a 56-day outdoor at a remote location."
Without revealing any names, the actress also called out a director who was harassing her with texts and dinner invites. She was quoted saying, "He stalked me during the day and called me through the night. I was asked to go to his hotel room on the pretext of discussing the scene and would find him drinking."
"During the first week itself, he started talking about love and sex and one night, arrived in my room, drunk, and asked to be hugged. It was scary!" she recalled.
She also shared a piece of her mind on how newcomers should handle these sticky situations. "Lose the part but don’t get on the couch," Swara asserted while saying it was not a feminist choice or liberating one but that one should not succumb to a wrong.
