AL's Quader ridicules cabinet colleague Inu
Road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader on Thursday compared information minister Hasanul Haque Inu's remarks criticising the Awami League, with the 'explosion of a bomb'.

Inu, president of AL's alliance partner Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), on Wednesday told a Kushtia rally that the AL would not be able to return to power in a thousand years without the help of other parties.

In a rebuttal, Quader, general secretary of the AL, said it has been seen how JSD did in the electoral contests without the support of the AL.

"Inu might have exploded the bomb, out of grievances, which can be discussed in the party and alliance forum.. We've nothing to worry about" Quader said, addressing a party programme at the Dhaka University campus on Thursday.

He added, "Inu is fully aware of the possible results if JSD contests elections without the Awami League."

The JSD leader was elected member of parliament on an AL ticket in the 2008 general elections after forming an electoral alliance with the AL.

At a JSD rally in Kushtia on Wednesday, Inu criticised AL leaders for their conflicting relations with JSD in his constituency and said JSD and parties such as the Jatiya Party of former military leader HM Ershad were the key components for making the AL a contender for power.

Despite showing his reaction, Quader said he would not make too many remarks in a public forum.
