Dhaka University's disciplinary board has recommended expulsion of 15 students for forgery in their admission process.
The board made the recommendation at a meeting on Thursday morning.
Emerging from the meeting, vice chancellor Md Akhtaruzzaman told Prothom Alo that the recommendation would now be endorsed by the university's syndicate meeting for the final action.
In 2016, some 15 students were enrolled with the university in different departments through forgery.
University proctor Golam Rabbani said the disciplinary board's recommendation is the final decision, and the 15 students would now be expelled once the syndicate made a formal decision.
He said the forgery of 15 students was proven through investigation by Criminal Investigation Department of the police, the media and the university authorities.
